Academics

In addition to career training, Atlanta Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.

GED Program

One of our top goals at Atlanta Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Our GED program provides detailed training for the five subject areas of the GED battery test.

Online High School Diploma Program

Our online high school diploma program is a self-paced curriculum that allows students the opportunity to achieve a high school diploma. The program is provided through Home Study International (HSI) and is accredited by the Southern Association for Colleges and Secondary Schools and other national accreditation agencies.

School for Integrated Academics and Technologies (SIATech)

SIATech is a public charter high school that re-engages disconnected students through an innovative curriculum that integrates technology with academics and provides them the opportunity to earn a high school diploma. The school operates on our campus under the auspices of the Atlanta Public Schools.

Advanced Career Training

The Advanced Career Training (ACT) program allows our students to enter community and technical colleges in the Atlanta metropolitan area. These colleges include Atlanta Metropolitan College, Georgia Perimeter College, Atlanta Technical College, and Dekalb Technical College. The credits that our students receive in ACT are transferable to other colleges and universities.
